Urgent Help Needed for Union Island: Hurricane Beryl Relief
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
We are Shane Stewart and Richardo Roberts. Today, we are reaching out to you from the depths of our hearts for support, no matter how small.
On the 1st of July 2024, Union Island was ravaged by a catastrophic Category 4 hurricane, with terrifying winds reaching up to 120 mph. The island, known for its serene beauty and tight-knit community, was left in utter devastation. The sheer force of the hurricane destroyed 90% of the houses on the island, leaving most of the residents without shelter. Homes were flattened, roofs torn away, and entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble.
The aftermath is heart-wrenching. Families are stranded with no roofs over their heads, exposed to the elements with no protection. There is an acute shortage of food and basic necessities, and with communication lines down, the island is effectively cut off from the outside world. The situation is dire, and immediate assistance is needed to provide relief to the residents who have lost everything.
We have been living abroad in the UK for the last 4.5 years, serving in the Royal Engineers, but as someone who grew up on and has family back in Union Island, this disaster strikes deeply at our core. We both have fond memories of a vibrant, close-knit community that always stood together in times of need. Now, our people are suffering, and we cannot stand by helplessly. We are determined to do everything in our power to bring aid and comfort to those who need it the most. Our training and experience have prepared us for challenging situations, but this is a battle that requires collective effort and support.
Your generous donations will be used for:
1. Emergency Supplies: Providing non-perishable food, clean water, medical supplies, and hygiene items to those affected.
2. Shelter and Clothing: Supplying blankets, tents, and clean clothing for displaced families.
3. Rebuilding Efforts: Assisting in the repair of homes and community infrastructure damaged by the hurricane.
The funds raised will be deposited into Shane Stewart account, and I will personally take the funds to Union Island to purchase and distribute essential supplies. The donations will be used to buy canned foods, water, medical supplies, and more, ensuring that those most in need receive immediate assistance.
We are humbly asking for your support in this critical time of need. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by this disaster. Please help us bring hope and relief to Union Island. Together, we can rebuild and restore our community. Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
With deepest gratitude,
Shane Stewart and Richardo Roberts
