Emergency Assistance Needed for Veteran's Healthcare Costs
Donation protected
On July 17th, 2024, my dad Carl Jackson, an Air Force veteran and retired professor, had a severe stroke that left him completely incapacitated for two weeks. He was in the hospital suffering from cognitive issues and could not stand or walk on his own. After a couple of weeks of rigorous physical therapy, he could stand and walk on his own again with moderate difficulty.
On August 9th, 2024, my dad had a small stroke hours after being released from rehab and had to go back to the hospital. He has been rapidly declining cognitively ever since.
On December 8th, 2024, my dad had a third stroke while staying at a temporary skilled nursing facility that caused him to lose balance and break his hip. He has since had hip surgery and is currently in the hospital recovering. His insurance is going to cut off coverage soon and we will have to pay out of pocket for many expenses.
Here's where you can help:
I need enough to be able to cover the costs of his medical bills, his insurance premiums, and a good long term care (LTC) facility since he has no safe place to return to. He can no longer live on his own and needs to be moved out to a LTC home as soon as possible.
If you can contribute, I would be very grateful for your generosity. Anything helps. I am working to pay the rest, but the monthly costs along with my own bills and rent add up. Any and all help would be a tremendous blessing for us. Thank you.
