Funeral Support for Grieving Parents

My name is Mariya. My husband Ivan joins me here. We are the parents of Mykola, our youngest son. Who passed away in his sleep last night. 

I woke up to silence. The kind of silence that chills your bones and makes your heart race before your mind can even grasp what's happened. It was 4 a.m. when Mykola's heart stopped beating. My son, my sweet boy, is gone. I didn't scream; I couldn't. There was only the hollow sound of my breath.

For years, we watched him suffer. His strength would come and go, like waves at the ocean. Recently, we took him to Temple University Hospital, but they refused to help him and only stabilized him.

That's all they did—just enough to keep him hanging on. And when we brought him home, we hoped he'd rest, recover, and find his strength again. But he knew. Oh, he knew more than we did. He left us a note just a week before saying he feels his life is near the end as if he was preparing us for the inevitable. "Cherish every minute of your life," he wrote. These are the words we all could learn from.

We celebrated his 39th birthday on September 11th. He smiled through the pain. None of us imagined it would be the last birthday, Mykola's last smile. He was a Great and Kind Soul who always helped others regardless of the circumstances.

We are reaching out during the most challenging time of our lives. We are shaken, traumatized, and heartbroken by his sudden passing, and your kindness would offer us some relief during this unimaginable time. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we are trying to cover his funeral, medical, and other expenses.
