Urgent Help Needed: Nicole David’s Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Giselle, and I’m reaching out with Nicole’s partner, Rody, along with all of Nicole’s friends and family who are joining together to support her in a critical fight against cancer.
Our dear friend Nicole, whom many of you know as “Saint Lucia’s Queen of Soca,” has recently received the devastating news that she is battling cancer. This diagnosis has come as a profound shock to us all, as her symptoms had seemed minor until further testing revealed just how serious her condition had become. Now, we are faced with the urgent need to help her access the advanced care she needs—without delay.
Nicole’s local hospital, OKEU, is unable to provide the surgery and specialized treatment required. After extensive discussions with medical professionals, we are working to transfer her to Martinique, where she can receive the urgent, advanced care necessary to give her a full diagnosis and the best fighting chance. This GoFundMe has been set up here in the UK for ease of management, but please know that Nicole’s entire community, near and far, is fully involved.
Nicole has touched so many lives in Saint Lucia and beyond, not only through her vibrant music but with her warmth and generous spirit. Her song Bounce (also known as Queen of the Jungle), which won the 2005 Road March, remains a cherished anthem, and her recent collaboration on the 2024 carnival anthem It’s Carnival brought new energy to carnival season. Beyond her music, Nicole is a familiar face at community events, singing and hosting karaoke nights, and welcoming cruise guests at Point Seraphine. She has brought joy to so many, and now she needs her community more than ever
This is our heartfelt appeal for your help. Every contribution, large or small, will bring Nicole closer to the treatment she so urgently needs.
Funds will cover her medical treatments, travel, and essential living costs, with any surplus going toward easing the financial burden this fight has brought to her life. We know the strength of our community, and together, we can give Nicole the best possible chance to overcome this.
Thank you for standing with Nicole, showing her that she is not alone, and helping her fight for health and hope.
