Beirut Explosions - Saint George Hospital, Beirut, Lebanon Relief Fund. We need your help! Please help us raise money to provide medical care for the people of Beirut, Lebanon whose lives were devastated from yesterday’s apocalyptical blasts. I am an American citizen who was born in Beirut in the 70’s. I spent a substantial amount of my childhood in a bomb shelter in Lebanon during the 15-year civil war.  I am one of the lucky ones – I was fortunate enough to have a chance to start my life over here in the United States, my home. I am especially indebted to my colleagues and mentors at two health care systems — the Mount Sinai Health System and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Without their support, guidance and encouragement, my “good life” in the United States would not be possible. I am grateful and humbled by their personal and professional investment in me. I feel a debt of gratitude to many people who have helped me build a home and a life in this great country.  I am especially thankful to everyone at Mount Sinai and Vanderbilt for their encouragement and support throughout my journey.
