Help Madison afford life-changing surgery

This is something I never wanted to do, but I have to ask for help. I need three surgical procedures in the next 2-3 years. The first and most important for my safety is facial feminization surgery. It was supposed to happen in February but, unfortunately, my insurance company is using this transphobic climate in 2025 to refuse to pay for it now, which goes against the recommendations of every medical association. That leaves me needing to come up with an additional $30k to pay for the rest of the surgery (while also dipping into my entire savings to pay for the others).

Facial feminization surgery will cut down on the number of times I’m threatened or worse when out in public. I get tons of death threats and one time a driver even veered on purpose to try to hit me in a grocery store parking lot. Some of my facial features are also among my greatest sources of gender dysphoria in my life (I’m very strategic when taking photos right now).

It’s embarrassing to be in a position to need to ask for help, but the Trump administration has signaled it hopes to block surgeries for transgender people so I’m having to scramble to quickly find a way to pay for this procedure on my own now.
