Urgent Help Needed to Prevent Power Shutoff for Chris

Hi, my name is Chris. I'm a disabled combat veteran. My father passed away a while back. His wife decided not to pay their power bill before selling his house. I bought my house from him when I got home from the military because he wanted to move closer to his mom and had just retired. It was convenient for both of us. I bought a good house at a decent price, and he got a quick sale without having to pay anyone. (I paid the lawyer that handled the paperwork.) Somehow, when I was transferring the power bill to my name, everything changed except his SS number was still attached. Alabama Power doesn't care that he passed away and that I'm not him or that I'm a disabled veteran. If I don't pay the bill from his house 4 hours north of mine, my power will be shut off. I've talked to everyone that I can with Alabama Power, and they all say they don't care. It's a bad situation, but you have to pay. His widow (my mother) has blocked me, knowing she is responsible for the bill but refuses to pay. I don't like asking for help, but I'm out of options as they are about to disconnect me. Please, even if you can only spare $1, I don't need that much. $1 from 1000 people will keep my power on and put me back on track to not needing help. Thank you for your consideration.
