Urgent! Help Robin and Amy Avoid Eviction.

Donation protected
Hi. I’m Robin Sinyard, and I’m about to be evicted from my apartment, along with my sister and her cat. All because of a financial emergency well beyond my control. You see, at the beginning of October, my disability payment went missing. My dad, who was my representative payee, did not receive it (I could go into why I wasn’t already my own payee, but that’s not relevant here), but he did receive my SSI payment via paper check instead of the usual direct deposit. That was strange enough. When the disability check didn’t show up, I called Social Security because my dad, who is dying, is unable to do that.

A nice lady at Social Security told me that the check had been sent to another address, but she couldn’t tell me who authorized the change. It was a mystery. In the meantime, I couldn’t pay my rent nor many other bills. I told the office personnel at my apartment complex on the day the rent was due that I couldn’t pay, and told them why. I found out some time later that senior management was unmoved by the fact that this was not my fault. We are now headed for court and in danger of being put on the street.

The good news: we got to the bottom of what happened. My dad was unable to fill out the annual renewal form due to being sick, and they sent him several letters, which of course went unanswered. I’m not sure how the paper check thing happened, but I now know that because of the last letter going unanswered, the last disability check was sent back to the local Social Security.

The other good news is that I’ve gotten the money back. But I still can’t pay the rent because more than $200 in late and legal fees have been tacked on, and I can’t afford to pay that much. What’s more, I’m not allowed to pay this month’s rent until I’ve paid last month’s rent. So by the time you read this, this month’s rent will be due, or more likely, past due, and I won’t be able to pay it either.

So, you see the pickle we’re in here. We need money, and we need it ASAP. It’s gonna take a miracle, but that’s what GoFundMe is for. We need a miracle, and you can help give us that miracle. If you can’t give even $1, please at least share this with everyone you know. Thank you.
