Urgent - Help Sama's family evacuate Gaza

Hello, my name is Sama Jhaish and I deeply appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. I'm a Palestinian biomedical engineering student in Turkey. I left Gaza a few months ago to study abroad, and my dear family is still there.

As you know Gaza is going through one of the deadliest attacks in modern history, families are being wiped completely off of the record and nowhere is safe. The only way to evacuate out of Gaza is by paying a huge amount of money to Rafah crossing border management.

I can't find words that are enough to describe how terrified I am of what's going to happen to my family if they stay longer in Gaza. I have 3 younger siblings. Moh is 16 years old, he's a brilliant young man who always impresses his teachers and they were all expecting a bright future for him because of his intelligence, phenomenal character, and his passion for learning.

My little sisters Mariam (11) and Roaa (8) are two wonderful children who bring bright colors and joy to everyone's lives, they love drawing and doing different kinds of art. Mariam had her first show at a gallery a few days before October 7th. She had great plans and passionate dreams, but after what she saw and experienced in the past few months, she's losing hope and her trauma can be found in her new drawings. She said to me a few days ago: "I'm only 11 years old and I have seen all of this, what's left?!" Meanwhile, Roaa is experiencing panic attacks and screams in her sleep and keeps having seizures that are getting worse.

My biggest pride and joy in my life is my family. We have loving parents who always supported us and taught us to love and find the bright side of everything, even though they went through a lot and had to live with chronic diseases. They have been my source of strength during this war, but the conditions around them are gettin worse and telecommunications blackouts are making it difficult to communicate.

Please, help me evacuate my family from Gaza to somewhere safe.

This fundraiser is being organized by Galadriel Brady: I am an American computer scientist and I had the pleasure of being Moh's teacher and mentor over the summer for the program YouthCode-Gaza.

I will be sending all funds raised directly to Sama. The money raised will cover border crossing costs for 6 people: Mohammed Jhaish, Mariam Jhaish, Roaa Jhaish, and their mother, father, and grandmother. Current border crossing costs are estimated at $8000 per person. Any additional funds will be used to cover further travel and accomodation expenses to reunite the family with Sama.
