Urgent! Help Save Iggy's 3-Yr-Old Twin Ash
Donation protected
Ash is one of my indoor rescue cats who, along with his twin brother Iggy, has been thriving in my apartment since I rescued them two years ago.
On Sunday, March 26, Ash suddenly began to appear listless and sick. He could not use his litter box. I brought him to the Garberville-Redway Veterinary Clinic early the next morning. The vet told me that Ash had a urinary obstruction. Urinary obstructions can be fatal and require immediate attention. If I had waited another 24-48 hours, the veterinarian told me that Ash would’ve needed to be euthanized.
Ash and Iggy are my whole world and I am devastated at the possibility of losing him.
A catheter has been placed and Ash will be staying at the vet for a minimum of seven days. On Saturday, April 1, a test will determine if Ash needs to have surgery. Right now the vet bill is $1,500 but the surgery will add another $2,000.
As a longtime SSI recipient and animal/ecology activist living on a small fixed income, I am asking for your help covering these high emergency veterinary hospital costs so that Ash receives the care he needs.
Ash is a friendly, curious little boy whose hobbies include snuggling, prancing, walking on my back for a piggyback ride, and playing with my beard.
