Urgent: Help Rebuild a Family of 11 After Fire & Flood

I’m reaching out on behalf of a truly incredible family who is going through an unimaginable hardship right now. This family of 11, who have always been pillars of our community, were devastated by both a fire and a flood that left their home uninhabitable. Since February 1, 2025, they’ve been displaced, and with no place to go after their temporary housing runs out on February 22, they are in desperate need of help.

This family is so deserving of support. They are some of the most active and selfless members of our community. They’ve always been there to lend a hand, whether it’s helping with local events, advocating for positive change in our Northern BC region, or supporting cultural initiatives. ✊They dedicate their lives to their family, their culture, and working in social services to uplift and support others. Their impact has been felt far beyond our community.

But right now, they need us. Despite the overwhelming stress they’re facing, they continue to show up for work and keep moving forward, always with hope, always with strength. But the uncertainty of housing and the toll this has taken on them—especially on their children—has been too much to bear.

Their kids have lost so much—personal items, their beds, and the security of their home. Even when they return, they won’t know what to expect from the damage, or if anything they have left is even safe.️ The family has been staying in an AirBnB, but their stay is set to end soon, and without support, they will have nowhere else to go. ️
