Dear friends, family, and other generous souls,
Hello everyone. My name is David, and I may be terminally ill, but this campaign is for a wonderful woman, Magui. Magui is a lifelong Caregiver. In all my years, I have never seen anyone who matched her love for working as a caregiver or who developed such a fantastic skill. Her dream has always been to own and run a home for the disabled. For now, she desperately needs everyone's help. Magui's cardiologist has told us that a heart attack or stroke is imminent. Please help us make sure that does not happen. Magui must live; she's just got to. The world needs people like Magui. It can't afford to lose such selfless and loving people like her so early. This campaign is for her. The cardiologist says that she is in imminent danger of dying and explained to her that what she was doing was like playing Russian Roulette with her life. He also said that she needed to go to the hospital immediately and stay for approximately 3 days while he ran a battery of tests on her and worked out an effective treatment. That's it. That is all that is needed to save her life. Magui had to tell the cardiologist that there was just no money to pay for it. She can't fly back to Regina, so it must be done in Mexico and paid for.
Magui's life has been spent giving, caring, and sacrificing, regardless of the cost to her health and well-being. She embodies the essence of selflessness and devotion to others. "Selflessness!?"… She once gave herself stress fractures in both kneecaps when she insisted on carrying me and my scooter up two flights of stairs. Willpower and sheer determination powered her, but the certainty that the doctor at the top of the stairs could help me drove her motivation. Oh, did I mention that she has saved my life a total of 3 times? She treats everyone like that, and when that moment in time comes and a friend, acquaintance, or stranger approaches her for relief and to ease their suffering, she is there for them. The toll of sacrificing her health for others for so much of her life and the toll of being so selfless finally caught up in the form of this very serious cardiovascular condition that isn't responding to treatment. If we can't finance a short stay in the hospital, her future is indeed grim.
As strong as Magui is, she is still human. Knowing she has no money for a hospital stay or to buy any new medication that might be prescribed, she is afraid. She is afraid of dying but is resigned to it. Our rock, our guardian angel, is now suffering. It is her moment in time. It is her time to approach someone else for relief and to ease her suffering. Where once dwelt the soul of a selfless giant, the spectre of a heart attack overshadows everything. Where once there was laughter and dogged determination, all there is now is overwhelming hopelessness, despair, and, for me, the terror of being left to pass away alone. I always tell Magui that she is beautiful. She always laughs and says, Oh, Mills, that's nice, but I know I am not." She's always wrong, though, because she is so beautiful to me that I see a glow radiate from her as her beauty from within shines through.
Please donate anything you can afford, and maybe this campaign can play the role of a selfless caregiver for her. We humbly ask for your generosity and kindness in raising funds to ensure Magui's immediate access to the medical care she urgently needs. Your contributions will not only provide her with the medical attention she requires but also serve as an expression of gratitude for her selflessness.
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to saving a life that has saved countless others. Help us rally behind Magui and show her that her sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Together, we can ensure that this incredible woman receives the care she so rightfully deserves.
Please share this campaign far and wide. Forward it, repost it, mention it in conversation, retweet it, or share it any way you can (please only if you are comfortable). Let's make a difference in the life of someone who has made a difference in ours. Thank you for your compassion, empathy, and support.
With heartfelt appreciation,
