Help save my family from Gaza genocide & evacuate

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mohanad Kahlout, a Palestinian youth living in Athens, Greece, but born and raised in Gaza, where I have lived through many terrified wars and painful conflicts since my childhood in Gaza. I am currently fundraising on behalf of my family trapped in Gaza. I wake up each morning hoping to hear news of their survival, as we have already lost too many family members and friends in this horrible war.

Since the starting of this ongoing genocide in Gaza, my family found themselves in a terrifying nightmare that seems never-ending, surrounded by continuous and relentless bombings and airstrikes every minute. A huge number of casualties on the streets, children and women dying in hospitals, forced displacement all over Gaza strip, lack of communication and very difficult access to food, water supplies, basic needs and health care. The infrastructure of Gaza strip is almost destroyed including hospitals, schools, houses, roads, farms and industries with no safe place to go to.

Urgent Need
My father Mostafa (58 years old) and my mother Khadeja (55 years old) are having chronic diseases and in desperate need of medical care and regular medicine as well the children; Toulen (2 years old) and Mustafa (6 years old) in desperate need of basic hygiene products, baby supplies, and needed vaccinations. My little sister Hala (15 years old) has lost her current academic year dreaming to continue her education soon. My remaining brother and two sisters cannot take away the continues terror of the daily strike and shillings seeking a safe place to live in peace and dignity.

It currently costs around $6,500 per adult, and $3,700 per child to attempt to evacuate Gaza, even if the proper visas and documentation can be accessed. Our primary focus is day-to-day survival but we hope to raise enough to secure passage of family out of Gaza. We understand we may have to make hard decisions regarding who we can save.

Economic Hardship
During the past 4 months of the war, my family have exhausted all their savings. My brother Mohammed (30 years old) and my sister Rola (26 years old) have lost their jobs that was the main sources of income for the family. within the first month after the outbreak of violence. Now my family are in their fifth month without any source of income, with complete monopolization of the few and limited food and goods in Gaza markets, making life in Gaza now devoid of security, whether in terms of life, food, water, basic needs and medical treatment, especially since my parents suffering chronic diseases.

In addition, I have completely exhausted my little savings to get them this far. Securing some basic needs including foods and medicine for my parents alone cost upward of $1300 USD. A mere bag of flour going for anywhere between $100-$150 USD. A single egg is costing $1.50 USD, while potato or tomato $8-$10 before the supply was exhausted. I am working to increase my working hours per week as I’m permitted to secure some basic need for my family. Even with all my efforts I still can’t even come near meeting my family’s basic needs at the inflated prices and with the lack of goods.

Whilst my reality is devastating, my family and I still hold onto a big hope that one day we will be reunited and able to embrace my loved parents. If you can find it in your heart, I would be infinitely grateful for any financial help possible. If you can’t donate, we are seeking any information or help in the process of securing documents or visas or what we can possibly do to get my family out of Gaza.

Your Donations Cover:
  • Basic needs (water, food, hygiene, medicine, baby supplies)
  • Passport renewal fees (for 4 persons only)
  • Document transfers

I will continue updating on the welfare of the family as we navigate this crisis.

Distribution of Funds
Due to the sensitive nature of this conflict, I cannot go into great detail how funds are reaching my family. However, the money is going directly to my father and mother. The amount will be deposited directly into an account that my father and mother can access.
