URGENT: Medical Attention for David Sanchez

 Greetings, I'm Desiree and I am fundraising to save my father David's life. David was born with a horseshoe kidney, which is when two kidneys fuse at the bottom, forming one. Six years ago, he found out that he had one kidney and it was shutting down. He began having side pain and peeing blood. People born with a horseshoe kidney do not have a backup if it starts to fail and getting a transplant would require another rare horseshoe kidney. David is also undocumented, which is why you will not see his face in the images provided.

Medical students at a nearby university took on his rare case and experimented on him. Today, six years later, he lives with a wire cable inside of his kidney and bladder, it is extending outside of his body. He is irregularly shocked by this cable to keep his kidney alive. Calcium the size of an egg is growing inside of this cable. A year after that operation, a nephrostomy tube  was wedged into his kidney to drain urine out. The tube was only supposed to remain in his body for 3 months, it's been 4 years. Because he is undocumented, he does not have insurance and could not keep up with the monthly payments. He sees a new doctor now who needs to 1) dissolve the rock of calcium with a laser 2) remove the disintegrating cable 3) remove the nephrostomy tube. What is killing my father is the growth of bacteria inside of his body. Because he does not have the money for this be operation, he is simply given pain meds and antibiotics.

David says, "If I do not get help, the bacteria will spread to the rest of my organs and I will die." He is already dying at an accelerated rate and has been nearly bedridden for the past two weeks. Removing this cord from his body is just a first step in healing his kidney, but if it is not completed there will be no next step. He is in constant pain, depressed, and becoming debilitated. I just met my father 10 months ago because I am adopted and he is undocumented. He was threatened by my mother's family who took me in because they did not want to lose me. David Sanchez has shown me the meaning of life and is my very best friend. He can die any day...time is running out. I can not lose the father I just met. Please help save my dad, anything helps.
