Urgent medical funds for Jemma, 2nd time breast cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Steph and I'm helping to raise funds for my friend Jemma who recently received a call with the difficult news of a new tumour found on a breast MRI screening check after having been diagnosed with cancer back in 2021, and she's been told it's extremely likely that the cancer is back, so she now needs urgent life saving investigations and treatment.
Jemma was first diagnosed in 2021 at the age of 43 with aggressive grade 3 breast cancer thanks to her cat consistently alerting her to a particular area of her breast, which is where a tumour was eventually found.
Jemma has no family here in Spain and no partner or kids, so she needs all the help and support she can get from us.
Jemma's previous breast cancer tumour didn't show on standard screening methods such as mammogram and ultrasound, and due to this she now needs the expertise of various specialists.
After a long struggle, countless treatments and a rollercoaster of complications since first being diagnosed, her condition had stabilised and she was put on reduced monitoring checks.
Jemma's beloved cat is sadly no longer here to alert her, but due to her complicated and unusual history she felt it wise to get another MRI check done in November this year (thank goodness!), which has now identified this significant and devastating problem. There are also some concerning findings in her blood work.
Jemma is a high risk case with a high fatal recurrence risk of 32% and is going to need urgent investigations, tests, scans and treatment as soon as possible and can't have any more delays, which will mean having to pay for the treatment and possible surgery. It's anticipated a double mastectomy.
She has been doing and is continuing to do everything within her power to stay alive and also help others in her situation by raising awareness and doing extensive research and informative posts on social media on the matter. She has been very proactive and strong throughout this but she has now run out of funds and has no savings left due to the last 2 years.
I first met Jemma back in 2021 shortly after she was first diagnosed, when she reached out for my help as an interpreter for medical appointments. I've been on the journey with her and seen everything she has been through. She has since become a good friend and is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She never stops thinking of others and constantly does her best to help everyone and use her difficult situation to educate other people, but now she needs our help.
So please, if you can spare any money at all, any donation of any size is appreciated more than you know.
Please share this page with your friends and lets help save Jemma's life. #TeamJemma
