Help for Hero
Tax deductible
Hero started his life sick.
As his littermates thrived, he remained much smaller than the rest and as he got older he developed severe neurological behaviors.
Bred only to be sold, he was not deemed financially cost effective to save, so his options were euthanasia or a Rescue.
We got the call and while our logical brain said no, our hearts said yes… how could we not try.
Hero had a CT scan yesterday and is diagnosed with an extrahepatic portosystemic shunt… basically a liver shunt.
He is currently in surgery to save his life and we desperately need your help to cover the cost of surgery.
We have received over 1800 applications since January 1st, along with phone calls, walk ins, shelter and vet transfer pleas to intake pets.
We are navigating turbulent waters of the rising costs of care, increased volume of surrenders, and reduced donations as best we can.
Today, the average budget to provide housing, in-shelter care, food, and medical for one animal is $900 from entry to adoption, IF… there is no major medical.
It’s mid-year and we have already exceeded our medical budget, making it extremely hard for us to afford lifesaving care for pets like Hero.
H.A.L.O. Rescue was created in 2006 with a mission to create a NO KILL safe haven for abused and abandoned animals.
H.A.L.O. believes in a community where there are no more homeless pets and that together we can eliminate the killing of companion animals.
Any size donation will help make the biggest IMPACT! Thanks in advance for your contribution to Hero. It means so much to me.
