Urgent Money To Help Flood Victims in Valencia (Spain)

Hello, I'm Mark. I live near Valencia in Spain and work closely with many local families and businesses.

I am raising money to help those familiies, and hundreds like them in and around Valencia, who's lives have been devastetd by the catastrophic floods, which has left the communutites in ruins.

Homes, businesses, and streets have been submerged, leaving thousands of families facing unimaginable loss. Many people in Valencia have lost everything they owned—their homes, belongings, and sources of income swept away in the torrent. Streets once full of life now resemble disaster zones, with debris, mud, and water making it impossible to recognize the city they once called home.

The impact of this flood extends far beyond the loss of property; it’s a threat to life, security, and hope. Families are left stranded with no clean water, food, or basic supplies to begin the immense task of rebuilding. Many have no electricity or safe place to shelter, making recovery even more challenging.

With this GoFundMe campaign, we are raising funds to support Valencia’s people and help them regain a sense of normalcy. Every donation will go directly toward providing essential items needed to start rebuilding lives. Right now, the most urgent needs are food, clean drinking water, and basic cleaning supplies—items that can help residents begin restoring their homes and, in turn, their lives.

I am working with my friend Gonzallo, who grew up in Valencia and personally knows so many people who have lost homes, businesses, and loved ones in the flood. We will be using his van to collect and deliver supplies directly to those most in need so you can be 100% sure that your donation is having a positive impact very quickly.

Our first priority is to ensure that everyone has access to clean water and enough food to sustain them while they work to recover what’s been lost. So we will use a portion of the funds to buy and distribute staple foods and drinking water.

Another major need is for cleaning supplies. For those who can return to their homes, the cleanup is a monumental task. We will buy essential items like buckets, mops, disinfectants, and protective gloves. These supplies may seem simple, but they’re essential to begin clearing out the mud, debris, and damaged belongings that currently occupy so many rooms and homes.

The funds will also support local businesses in getting back on their feet. These small stores and services are crucial to the community’s economic recovery, providing jobs and local goods. By supporting their recovery with cleaning supplies and other essentials, we can help get Valencia’s economy moving again.

I live near Valencia, and have been working with a traditional, family run handmade terracotta tile company for the last few years. It's called Maora ceramic. I have had the priveledge to spend a lot of time with this amazing , creative, hardworking family and the community of workers , friends and colleagues that surrounds the factory . It's based in Alaquas which sits in the Turia river basin just outside the city.
