Carma dog shelter affords new land because of you!

Great news, because of your generous support, Carma Shelter has found new land, and the dogs did not go homeless! Carma recently received a notice from the municipality: They needed to fix the current facility or would be evicted.

Despite all of the work Carma does for the municipality and the services they provide, they have not been offered financial support or assistance in Lebanon.

About Carma:

Carma Animal Shelter is no longer an officially registered organization. In 2017, a group of volunteers heard about an elderly man caring for dozens of stray dogs in Tripoli, Lebanon. They decided to help him. Please see the breakdown of cost needs below. 

 

This group managed to vaccinate and sterilize all the dogs in the elderly man's care. In 2018, they became an animal welfare organization, starting their own shelter, transporting the dogs to their new home. Carma Animal Shelter was born but there is NO ONE to help them.

 

Inside Shelter Activities: From feeding to cleaning to shelter maintenance –Carma is 100% volunteer-driven. They do it all! Many of our shelter rescues are special needs dogs, requiring extra attention and care. 

 

Outside Shelter Activities: It's not just about the shelter. They rescue, treat and release dogs daily. A large percentage of their rescues require surgery because they have been hit by cars.

 

Carma's main expenses: Dog food, water for the shelter, vet bills. We currently do not have electricity.

 

The Carma Shelter Needs Your Support:

With the distressing threat of eviction, on top of the ongoing cost of operating shelter activities (care, maintenance, rescues, veterinarian bills etc.), we are in urgent need of help. The Carma dogs will be homeless if we don't act now.
