Urgent Relief for Carrissa's Flooded Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kym and I am putting together a fundraiser for my fellow employee & friend, Carrissa Coulson. She has had a run of bad luck and could use some help. Kansas City has received an enormous amount of rain this last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, her basement flooded, not just a little but I saw a picture of belongings floating in over waist high water. The big hit comes from her water heater no longer working, the washer and dryer are gone. Possibly the furnace, she is trying to let that dry before she tries it. She had all the water pumped out of her basement from a kind fellow employee and friend of hers. But with the continued rain, it flooded again. She could really use a sump pump.
Carrissa is a very resourceful person when it comes to money. She works hard to support her 2 young children, even a 2nd job at times. Currently they are living with cold water and using the laundry mat. I know it is a struggle for her. I would love to see her and her kids get a little relief and know that it is ok to accept help. Sometimes you just can't do it all and this is certainly one of those times. She does not know that I am putting together this fund raiser but my plan is to start transferring the donations to her right away as it builds. Her need is not in a months time, it is right now.
As I write this early Saturday morning I hear thunder and more rain and worry even more about her.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. And just know that if you are able to give, it is going toward a great cause and much appreciated.
