Urgent Relief for Ghada and Family from Gaza
Donation protected
Dear world,
I am Ghada Ashour from Khanyounis, which used to be a vibrant and happy city in the Gaza Strip. When the war began, I always thought nothing would happen to either me or my family, and that the war would end very soon. I lost my aunt, her daughter, her grandchildren, and the war did not end. My brother and sister lost their houses, and the war did not end. Almost every day, I heard news from friends whom I really knew, and everyone who was expected to have a bright future was killed, here the war became genocide. My family and I refused to leave our beautiful house, which was destroyed later, and our city because common here where we were born, where we lived, and where we were supposed to be till the end. However, when the army reached it, we had to leave because, you know, human life is more important. I remember that day we told each other that if anyone was killed during our escape, we had to continue. We went to Rafah because my wonderful city was no longer safe. We lived in a tent like other people from Gaza, and the genocide did not end. That is the first part of the story. Despite all these shocks, have I lost hope? God, I did not! But we have reached a point where the army will invade Rafah, and Rafah is the last city in the south. In addition, one of my brothers is missed and we do not know if he is alive or not. Here, if you searched in any dictionary in the world, you would not find the word "hope"!
I was completely honest when I said I did not lose hope until this moment. I was attending an internship before the genocide started, and I intended to stay active despite everything because there was always hope for a bright future. Additionally, I was studying for the IELTS English Exam to find a scholarship, but after leaving our home, I did not find any resources to continue. However, I hardly find a far place to charge my phone and continue improving myself because I believe the genocide will end one day.
Now, after the threats of invading Rafah, I am feeling hopeless. Throughout my whole life, I have never run out of hope, and there has always been another way, except now there isn't. Unfortunately, the only option is to leave our roots until the ceasefire. Please help and save us; my lovely family and me, where everyone has a story and hope, but my tears prevent me from writing it. Your donations will be for crossing fees for my family, consisting of 5 adults, with $5,000 for each. Please donate; every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you cannot, please share the link and remind me if one day you read my name and I have left the world permanently.
