Emergency Roof Repair for Hillside Homestead Dairy Barn
Donation protected
My name is Mitchell Hunt, and I'm asking you for your help.
Just down the road from my house is an amazing farm family.
Renee and Chet Baker run a dairy farm that offers wonderful farm products for our surrounding area.
Many of my neighbors and friends have become not only patrons of the farm, but also friends and care deeply about the farm.
On the evening of February 22, the dairy barn was in immediate danger of collapsing.
The deep snow and wind drifts had settled on the top of the barn, and the old creaky barn began to sag.
Renee sprang into action, calling family, friends, and community members to help save the barn. People rushed to save the barn, and it became clear that the barn roof needed to be replaced immediately.
Renee contacted her network of community members, and an immediate plan was hatched to replace the barn roof as soon as possible.
In Renee's words, "It was either get the cows out, let the barn fall, or fix it now."
Over the last two weeks, an incredibly fast crew converged on the farm and made quick work of the barn structure and replaced the roof entirely.
Although the insurance company seemed confident it would cover the expenses, it seems it can only cover one-third of the expenses.
I am asking everyone to donate what they can, so this incredible farm can feel supported and secure for decades to come.
Please give what you can, and/or share this GoFundMe on your social media accounts.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
