Urgent! Senior Dogs Need Medical Treatments!
Donation protected
Hello Best Friends supporters. We don't ask very often, but we are struggling and in desperate need of help. Please Donate. Every little bit helps!
Here at Best Friends Animal Rescue we have just taken on three senior dogs that need extensive vet work: including major dental work, ongoing blood work, ultrasounds, acupuncture and expensive medicines. We are also maintaining Forever Foster care dogs with ongoing medical needs. Six of our oldest Forever Foster dogs require therapies and other medications for relief from conditions such as arthritis, anxiety and cancer.
Here are just some of our current dogs needing your help:
Bud - 11 year old Maltese cross who came to us with chronic liver disease and other medical conditions. He was matted as he had been living outside, never walked, and is extremely anxious. We want to make the rest of his life happy and healthy. He needs ongoing blood work, acupuncture, medications and an ultrasound.
Shiloh & Shania - 12 & 14 year old Maltese crosses who both need major dental work. They came to us when their owner passed away.
Our dear old Charlie, a Forever Foster who can't be re-homed due to major behavioural and health issues. At 16 years old he needs major dental work with extractions as he can't eat properly. He is on various medications for arthritis.
Lovely Tilly, who is also in Forever Foster care, is now 16 and is having significant arthritis and mobility issues for which she is receiving physiotherapy and acupuncture.

Gem came to us with heart failure after her owner passed away. Her medications are no longer working as well and she was swelling up. She needs to have ongoing acupuncture as it has helped:
