URGENT: Stabilize a Black Queer Disabled Femme

Hi All,

This is Rawiyah & Christina Michelle- we are reaching out today because community care is urgently needed for a phenomenal Black, queer, disabled woman who is a communal care leader in her community, and a bright light in the world. For safety reasons, she needs to stay anonymous. However, she is happily providing updates and handwritten notes!

In the past year alone, she has gone through multiple instances of losing housing due to community violence. The chronic stress, trauma and lack of access to medical care have aggravated numerous long-standing medical conditions; she is in significant chronic pain on a daily basis.

We are seeking 10k to provide immediate financial care to support both her immediate and long-term health and needs:

Medication, accessibility supports and doctors appointments

Mental health services and supports

Grocery and food

Rent/utilities

Basic furniture and household supplies

Car (lives in an area where public transportation is not reliable, consistent, or suitable for her access needs; makes it difficult to get to her medical appointments, stores to buy basic needs and community support opportunities )

For decades, this Black woman has been centering, advocating for and helping fellow folks with marginalized identities: Black, Brown and Indigenous people of color; LGTBQ+ folks; fat folks; folks with marginalized religions/spiritualities; disabled folks. She is a generous and loving human being who, pre-pandemic, has opened her own home to those who have needed it.

She needs us now.
