BE KIND: a little support makes a BIG difference!

Dear Reader
We know it’s yet another fundraiser and many are struggling, BUT the desperate needs of refugees do not pause for the festive season.
Deported refugees (especially families & single-mothers) need YOU now!
Every month, an average of 30 refugees are deported from Germany to Nigeria due to their application for safety being refused. Unfortunately, these deportations won’t stop any time soon. The next scheduled deportation is 19th January.
These experiences are usually extremely violent, psychologically and physically. No empathy involved.
We (see below for details) cannot sit by and just let this happen. We urgently need your help to support the affected people sustainably!
We aim to take care of the affected people before and after their journey. We cannot stop the fact, but we wish to support their uncertain future.
There are still no support systems from the state.
➜ THE GOAL:
The fundraiser goal of €5.000,- would help us to cover the costs of food, accommodation, medication and more for the first quarter of 2022 (Jan until March) for those deported people.
• If 250 people would donate €20,00,- each, we would be able to reach our funding goal of €5.000,-!
• This is an ongoing fundraiser to create an emergency money pool step-by-step, our work solely relies on donations and volunteers. We are a small self-organised grassroots organization and were founded and led by people who have experienced seeking refuge themselves.
• If you have any further questions regarding this campaign, our work or just want to support us please contact us here.

Thank you for your attention!
Warm regards,

WHO WE ARE:
*Sarah Farina (volunteer) and Rex (founder of DERS and Refugees for Refugees)
The project Deportees Emergency Reception and Support (DERS) in Nigeria is a support network from Flüchtlinge für Flüchtlinge / Refugees for Refugees e.V in Germany that has been existing since 2010. We are founded and led by people who have experienced seeking refuge themselves.
Both platforms are a small self-organized grassroots organizations.
WHY WE ARE:
The project DERS supports people to gain a foothold after their deportation to Nigeria. Particularly, women with children are supported through our association.
WHERE WE ARE:
We are working in Germany and Nigeria.
MORE:
Here is a small insight into our current project in collaboration with the Nigerian alliance NCMC (Network for critical migration consciousness). The project helps people who have been deported to Lagos/Nigeria to immediately find shelter and further support.
You want to further help support families and people on an eye-to-eye level?
Every form of support is strongly necessary. If our work resonates with you, you can become a supporter.
Get in contact with us and tell us how you might be able to help.
Our work solely relies on donations and volunteers.
This is why we are happy to hear from you!
We are particularly thrilled about regular donations, as we finance ourselves.
