Urgent Support For Alvarez Family After Tragedy

On May 31st, 2023, our community experienced a devastating loss. Noelani Gonzalez, the beloved older sister of Juan Carlos Alvarez, an 8th-grade student at St. Edward, tragically lost her life in a car accident in her place of residence, Las Vegas. In the wake of this heartbreaking event, the Alvarez Family had to make arrangements for Noelani's body to be transported to Laguna Niguel for the funeral services. Following that, her final mass was held with her body present at the Mission Basilica in San Juan Capistrano last Tuesday.

Not only was Noelani Juan Carlos' older sister, but she also played a crucial role in supporting his education through the San Felipe scholarship program.

The Alvarez Family consists of Noelani's parents and her three younger brothers. They are

currently grappling with emotional and financial burdens in the aftermath of this tragic event.
