Urgent Medically Necessary Surgeries: Help Save Jen

We are reaching out to you with the distressing and heartbreaking story of our dear friend Jen, who is currently facing an extremely dangerous medical crisis. Jen has endured unimaginable hardships after back-to-back medical emergencies that have left her in dire straits, and she desperately needs our help to fund the care she needs that is so critical to survival (speaking, eating, chewing, digesting, etc.).

Jen's Story

For the past several years, Jen has been battling a severe dental crisis on her own, with no one by her side. The situation is not just about losing all functioning teeth; it is far more critical. If not addressed with precision, complications can include infection from previous surgeries where Jen had major hardware installed in her jaws during medically necessary reconstructive surgery to correct a severe mandibular deformity (1990). As a result, Jen is even further at risk for complications, such as sepsis, a life-threatening condition that could ultimately result in death.

Despite her best efforts and the tremendous progress she has made in her personal recovery from the consequences of her first medical emergency, Jen feels abandoned and isolated. Her communication skills were severely impacted by her past experiences, making it even more challenging for her to seek and receive the healthcare she desperately needs.

The Medical Urgency

Renowned professionals, including Dr. Frank Celenza (NYC), who worked on the reconstructive surgery Jen had in 1990, has reviewed Jen's case and confirmed the severity of her situation. This is not a matter of simple root canals and crowns; Jen will require ongoing and consistent follow-up care for the rest of her life.

Current doctors have written letters of support to Jen’s insurance company requesting medical coverage for the needed procedures (attached).

Despite these circumstances, Jen has shown remarkable strength and resilience. She has worked tirelessly on her own recovery from a misdiagnosed nervous system and brain injury in 2018, and has made impressive strides to restore her lifestyle and business after such a surprising, devastating diagnosis. Those who have had the chance to speak with her have seen her incredible potential to coach other trauma survivors. However, she is in desperate need of urgent medical care, now. And no one should face yet another critical health crisis alone and without resources.
