Urgent surgery for Quinn

Update 6th August 2021: Quinn had his consultation at Arun Veterinary Group today and is booked in for his surgery later this month! 

In March 2021, I adopted a little one eyed cat from Cyprus called Quinn. Estimated to be 2 years old, Quinn has already been through so much - he was found as a stray with a damaged eye which could not be saved and had to be removed.

I insured Quinn from the moment he arrived in the UK, but within 10 days I noticed some issues with his ear so took him to the vets where I was told they had found a lump and sent a swab away. Luckily it was benign, but the polyp has worsened and unfortunately now he has reoccurring infections caused by inflammatory polyps in both ears - as these issues arose within 14 days of taking out the insurance policy, the condition and treatment to date has not been covered.

So far, it has cost me upwards of £1,000, but Quinn is no longer responding to the antibiotics or steroids. His infections have now become severe and he's a very poorly cat. The vet has informed me that he needs a ventral bulla osteotomy in both ears and the cost is predicted to be £3,000.

The surgery will mean an incision in the jaw, under the neck. The pterygoid muscle will be separated with a scalpel so that the bulla is accessible. The bulla will then be opened and the polyps will be removed from both ears. With this surgery, it's extremely unlikely the polyps would ever come back.

It really pains me that this has to result in a Go Fund Me page, but I simply do not have £3,000 to spare on top of the existing vet bills and Quinn should not have to suffer because of that, and because his insurance doesn't cover him. He is the friendliest, most trusting little cat I have ever come across and I hate to see him suffering so much. Any donation or share would be so so greatly appreciated, it's hard to even put into words.
