Urgent Surgery Needed for Achilles the Husky

Donation protected
This is Achilles. He is a 3 1/2-year-old husky. Achilles developed acute blindness in both eyes and has been taking numerous medications to try to regain part of his vision, reduce inflammation, and avoid removing his eyes. This medication has side effects and has caused Achilles to experience extreme anxiety. He started eating non-food items.

A few days ago, Achilles experienced severe symptoms and was taken to the emergency vet. After several tests, blood work, and an x-ray, it was determined his condition was due to an obstruction. Achilles had a foreign object in his stomach that was causing much pain and discomfort. We induced vomiting with the purpose of him passing the object on his own, but this attempt was not successful. Achilles' condition is not getting better and he needs surgery right away to avoid damage to his intestines. The initial estimated cost of his surgery was $7,000 - $9,000. This is in addition to his emergency vet visit, which was another $1,500.

Any financial help will be greatly appreciated. This fund will go directly towards his surgery and aftercare. His recovery will most likely take longer, and there is a bigger risk of after-surgery complications due to the medications he's currently taking.

Thank you for taking the time to read Achilles' story.
