Urgent Surgery Needed for Rescued Puppy Sam

Friends and family, we need some help! As some of you may know, Mitch and I recently rescued/fostered a puppy that was going to be euthanized at the shelter. When we got her from the shelter, I noticed a large lump on her hip (baseball size!). It looked to be some sort of abscess, but after two different vet visits and diagnostics done, we discovered that it was actually a large hernia and the “lump” was her kidney.

The vet explained that she needed to have surgery sooner than later to repair this or we’d risk losing circulation to the kidney, putting the puppy at risk of major complications including passing away. As you can imagine, this is expensive! With all the diagnostics, medication, and surgery, we are at $10k in vet expenses. In partnership with Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue, we decided to go forward with the surgery. Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue has contributed a great deal to afford these expenses and we will contribute as much as we can on top of the time and care she will need in recovery!

I am creating this GoFundMe to ask for any donations friends/family can give as we did not expect these costs right off the bat, especially from our first foster dog! She is the sweetest girl and we want to give her the best fighting chance to a long, healthy, happy life. Sam greatly appreciates any help ❤️
