US Army Veteran's Funeral and Memorial

This is how I prefer to remember Larry. This photo was taken nearly 50 years ago and it is how I think of him day after day, not the way that his body wasted away by COPD.
For the past few years, Larry has been in and out of hospitals and nursing homes unable to breathe freely.  The disease finally ended his life on June 11, 2020.

Now we are faced with end-of-life expenses as we adjust to life without him.
Larry Wayne Van Winkle was born 6-21-1942 in Bellevue, Ohio. He graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa, and attended Christopher Newport College in Virginia.

He served in the US Army 20 years and was later employed at CCAD and NAS Communications Center at NAS Corpus Christi from which he also retired. His military duty included a year in Vietnam.

He passed away on 6-11- 2020 after battling COPD the past few years.

He is survived by his sister Laura and her son Joe, Larry's wife of 54 years, Evelyn, their daughter Angelique, sons Edward, Roger, and Michael, grandchildren Ashton, Michael, and Marissa, great-grandson, Malakai, niece Justina, and nephews Ronnie Joe, and Robert.
