Please help us buy a cooker for Wisborough Green Scout Hut

1st Wisborough Green Scout Group became dormant for many years over Covid and was relaunched in November 2022 with Beaver and Cub sections (Scout section to follow when we have enough volunteers!).

We’ve been working hard to bring the hut into modern working order but almost 2 years on we still don’t have a cooker.

“Cook on a campfire”, you say “you’re scouts!” Well yes, we have been! But sometimes we just need a fully functioning kitchen with a cooker. An oven for the young peoples baking to go in but most importantly so we can host our own camps and sleepovers at the hut again, all year round.

We need a big one! Suitable enough to cook for large groups. Please will you consider donating to help us buy a new one and some new cooking equipment? £2,000 will help pay for a new cooker/oven and help update our pots and pans and other kitchen equipment which are decades old and need renewing. We want a fully working, clean and hygienic place for our Young People and leaders to cook in and be fed from.

With improved facilities we can serve our community better and look forward to hosting a coffee morning to celebrate!
