Help us create a new entrance for the farm

Hi, my name is Sue. I run a Care Farm in Thurston. In August 2022 I set up a CIC (community interest company) which is purely non-profit, with the support of volunteers.

We are an outside facility, supporting mental health and people of all ages and abilities using farming techniques.

This year we are creating a Community Garden, which will allow people to come along, learn/ help grow lots of lovely fruit, veg, salad and cut flowers. Produce will be sold to the general public on a pick your own basis.

We will also be providing educational sessions at some point in the future.

Unfortunately the access to the farm was corrupted and was closed off. We have a temporary access which is not suitable for the site, but it is a solution for now.

This is not a permanent solution.

We are working with the council to resolve this, and have successfully been granted permission to reopen the old access but there are conditions.

Highways have implemented that we need to have a 10 metre tarmacced entrance, using a certified company to ensure this is done correctly.

This is to prevent mud from spilling onto the main road, which could cause an accident.

We understand times are hard for everyone, even if you have just a few pounds to donate we would really appreciate it, and eventually, it will benefit everyone who uses the site for whatever purpose.

This will also enable us to progress and move forward with our cause.

Quotes we have received from certified companies are in the region of £10k.

Thats alot of money ... but, it is essential for us to maintain the project, and ensure that we can continue supporting people of all ages and abilities, mental health and of course animal rescue.
