THE BACKGROUND:
I'm Ashley, the director and producer of this show. I have assembled a truly amazing team to help me make this a successful show. What started as an attempt at a sizzle reel for a pilot I am writing, quickly turned into a feature length documentary that then turned into a show because we realized we had SO many stories to tell. In a beautiful twist of fate and as an unexpected blessing, this "little project" took on a life of it's own and we now have a full-fledged show, something I never could have expected. We've managed to bring world-renowned dancers and champions, some of LA's most amazing Salsa bands, DWTS dancers and many more to this show, telling their stories, contributing their gifts and bringing the authentic world of dance to all of you! I couldn't be more grateful to all involved.
THE HELP:
We now need YOUR help to continue making episodes. We've started the train but need your help to keep it going. Please consider donating to help keep this show going.
THE STORY:
Bailamos with Ashley focuses on the world of partner dancing from the perspective of students.
Dance brings people together who never would have met otherwise. Dance unifies and equalizes everyone. Dance is family, passion and athleticism. Dance is for EVERYONE! In a world with so much bad news, we're creating a documentary of joy and hope.
We want to shed light on the reality of the partner dance world and tell the harrowing stories of the people who make up this community. Through interviews, we learn about these students, people who come from all walks of life, we learn about their challenges on and off the dance floor and how dance has brought them all together. We shed light on the reality of the world and touch on stereotypes of what it takes to dance. It's a show of hope, education, inspiration and hard work.
