Help Us Dig a Well for Ewatto Primary School in Nigeria!

WaZoBia Arts is raising money to drill a well for Ewatto Primary School in Edo State, Nigeria.

This school is special to us in so many ways. It was the school where our founder, (Sunny Eselekhomhen's) father, Matthew Eselekhomhen attended school. Ewatto Primary has approx. 100 students, all from the local village of Ewatto. Supplies are minimal, next to nothing, to say the least. No plumbing, electricity, restrooms, lighting, or kitchen facilities are on site. There is no playground, playground equipment, or equipment to play with outside. Teachers are provided with only small, (compositions sized) paper textbooks, and a few pencils for each student. Despite the lack of basic resources, the students are cheerful, happy, respectful, proud, and work hard to learn the lessons that are provided to them.

WaZoBia Arts is fundraising to provide money needed to drill a "borehole" for a well at the school, playground equipment, and basic school supplies. The borehole,(well) will provide running water for not only the school, but also for the locals, many of whom must walk miles to get water every day from "water trucks".

The borehole is special, because it will provide a fresh water source for all. During the "rainy season", villagers collect rainwater from their rooftops into wells dug into the ground, that they use for most of the year. However, during the "dry season", when rain is scarce, (Sept - March), villagers must walk to the water trucks to get water for daily use.

WaZoBia is committed "long term" to the success of the school, and hopes to continue fundraising beyond this project, so that students in the village can focus on their lessons in comfort, and not just day to day survival. We thank you on behalf of the students for your help!
