US Marine Corps Sgt. Johanny Rosario

Donation protected

Sgt. Johanny Rosario,25, of Lawrence Massachusetts was among the 13 killed in the suicide bombing at the airport in Kabul on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Sgt. Johanny was assigned to the 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade , Naval Support Activity in Bahrain and was deployed to Afghanistan soon after Afghanistan government collapsed on August 15, 2021. This was her second deployment to Afghanistan; the first one being when she was only 18 years old.

Besides being a selfless Marine helping desperate people fleeing away from a life under the Taliban, Sgt. Johanny held the torch for her family in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was the steady force that the family looked up to for strength and moral support. She truly was their hero! She had to pull up her boot straps and march on to rise above the hardships and insecurities at home.

With the fall of this monumental source of support and security to the family, while Sgt. Johanny gave her all fighting for this great country, her family is left shattered and lost.

Our prayers are for strength for all of us to bear the loss of a young promising daughter, sister, friend and most of all, an honorable citizen who would have improved the lives of many!

The least we can do now is to give the least we can to gather some financial support for this family that has had their ‘jewel’ snatched from them. It’s a small price to pay for the sacrifice that these brave young ones and their families endure so that we can live in a free land!

God bless America and give strength and solace to our brave service members that keep Her safe!

Transparency:

The generosity of the American people is astounding! We have surpassed our goal by  five-fold and this community continues to show its heartfelt commitment to Sergeant Rosario's heroism and the family she leaves behind.

In the further interest of transparency, I have been contacted by Capt. Samuel Long, who worked with Sgt. Johanny Rosario while she was stationed at Marine Corps Recruiters School at MCRD San Diego. He was her direct supervisor from 2017-2019 and has elected to assist this effort in both a transparent and meaningful way to Rosie. Please continue to share and support this effort and know your commitments will be honored with the utmost duty and care.

Below is Capt. Long’s contact information should you have any questions or would like to support in any other way possible.

Sam Long or Mike Magro at: [email redacted]

Sgt. Johanny’s sister, Rosalinda (at the office, we affectionately call her Rosie) is my employee.

Once we close off donations, all withdrawals will be directed to Rosie, who, now with Sgt. Johanny gone, will have to support her mother alone.

At the conclusion of Sergeant Rosario’s funeral and procession, we will publicize the allocation of funds and report the total amount and distributions. GoFundMe is a mediator of all funds.

Thank you all again for supporting this truly heroic Marine’s family during this time.
