USA Travel Softball Team

Hello, my name is Isabella Slape I am fundraising to raise enough money to compete in the 3rd annual COPA AMISTAD Tournament. I am honored and humbled to have been chosen to play with the USA softball travel team. We will travel to Havana, Cuba on July 31st, to represent the United States as we play softball against the Cuban National Team and the Cuban Junior National Team.

I have the privilege of being selected from a large pool of very talented players throughout the United States. I am 1 out of 12 young women and only 1 out of 4 collegiate players that have been given this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is even more inconceivable to think that I am the first Texan to be picked to be a part of this elite softball team. I am so proud and blessed and I have full awareness that I would not be here without the continuous support of my family, my community, and my coaches.

I am so excited to represent my hometown of El Paso, Texas while competing in Cuba. I love being able to show younger athletes in my community that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. El Paso has taught me the true meaning of community and there is no better way to repay my people than playing at the highest level I can. I have deep roots in El Paso and I love being able to call the Sun City home. Being the first Texas representative on this USA travel team is incredible and I hope that this encourages more athletes from El Paso and Texas to strive to continue to play and reach their greatest potential.

I am very passionate about softball and for as long as I can remember, it has been a huge part of my life. There isn't a place where I feel more myself than when I'm on the softball field. I have been very blessed to have many opportunities while playing this amazing sport. This sport quickly became my lifestyle and has taught me a plethora of things that I will hold dear to my heart forever. Being able to represent my hometown, state, and country while playing the sport I love is a prayer being answered and a true dream come true.
