USA Vaulting Pair and the Journey to Switzerland!

Hello! My name is Raelyn Snyder. I’m an 18 year old equestrian vaulter. Vaulting and horses have been a passion of mine from a young age. I’ve been vaulting since age 4 and have been competing since age 5. Competing at the World Championships has been my biggest dream, and I am so excited to be at this point in my vaulting career!

My Pas de Deux journey began when I was 7 years old and, at age 18, I’ve worked my way to the highest level of competition! Since the majority of vaulting in the US occurs on the west coast, being a vaulter from the east coast comes with certain disadvantages, such as, less educational opportunities, longer travel distances to national and international competitions, and less ability to train on quality vaulting horses. Luckily, years of hard work and dedication have allowed me to reach the top level of the sport and I now have an opportunity to represent the USA at an international championship overseas!

The first step to being selected to represent the USA is qualifying at the Selection Trials. The Selection Trials will be a series of competitions starting in April and ending in June. My vaulting partner Allegra Hart and myself are required to compete in at least one national US show, one International show and one competition overseas. The costs of traveling and transporting our horse to these completions are immense, and being 18 year old athletes, it is very difficult to cover these costs on our own.

After setting my goals for the 2024 FEI Vaulting World Championship, I’ve realized that I financially cannot do this on my own. With big goals come huge expenses. This goal is a huge financial undertaking for me and it won’t be possible without the help from supportive people like you!
