USAF Veteran Replace stolen bike
Donation protected
Hello,
I am a service-connected veteran of the USAF. I do a lot of community outreach in my area. I used my bike not only for my health and well-being but for community outreach.
I have been a board member and volunteer with the local community gardens for nine years running. Our gardens are utilized to help supplement the local food pantry and interfaith community outreach.
Annually I would use my bike to go to the gardens and seed, maintain and distribute the produce. Also, as a volunteer chaplain before Covid-19, I would use my bike to visit shut-ins and veterans alike.
As a student in mortuary science at FINE Mortuary College in Norwood, MA I have been enjoying riding my bike to the veteran's post and studying by the lake here.
It is for these reasons and so much more than replacing my bike that is key to my mental health and well-being. Also, without it I am unable to continue my outreach to my community members.
With SNAP shutting down the additional funds for families this next month our expanded gardens and the newly expanded food pantry at Hartford St, Natick will be critical to those suffering from food insecurities. Everyone doing their part to assist those in greatest need is critical at this time.
I consider it a great honor to be able to help those in need. Thank you for considering my fundraiser.
