USMC SGT. JOHN WAYNE NELSON

Donation protected
JOHN NELSON is my son. He is a USMC Sergeant (Ret.). A naturally-gifted Mountain Warfare Instructor, John loved to kayak, mountain bike, fly-fish, telemark ski, mountaineer, and rock climb. He was once ordered to lead an expedition of eight Marines to summit Mount McKinley during the coldest conditions in the then previous twenty years. He completed the mission with four of them. Before his brain injury, he was married, the father of an 11-month-old baby girl, and thriving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
John experienced a fall in April 2015 that found him transported to a local hospital with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of three: the lowest score before death and the worst prognosis. All four quadrants of his brain were damaged and his skull shattered. He was in a coma for two and a half weeks. My family was told that they didn’t know if he would make it.
John survived, but his life changed dramatically. Sent to a Head Trauma Injury Unit for two months before being transferred to the Inpatient Polytrauma Unit for the rest of his 11-month hospital stay, he had to relearn to walk, talk, eat, and swallow. In addition to losing his wife, he also lost custody of his daughter. While John has significantly improved over the last seven years, he still struggles with cognitive struggles and pain management that make it difficult for him to function normally and be around other people.
                  BUT THERE IS HOPE!
The stem cell treatment facility, BioXcellerator (https://www.bioxcellerator.com/), has examined John and cleared him for an alternative, regenerative treatment at their clinic in Medellin, Colombia (South America) in January 2023. BioXcellerator specializes in regenerative medicine that utilizes natural healing instead of pharmacology and intrusive procedures. John’s treatment (even given the veteran discount) is about $35,000—an insurmountable number for a disabled veteran. We’re looking for partners to cover the entire amount of John’s treatment expenses so that John has a chance to become whole again and contribute to the communities that have treated him so well: his USMC family and the healing community.
Please, consider making a donation towards John’s treatment. If you want to follow John’s healing journey, go to (SGT John Nelson, USMC, severe TBI, journey to wellness. THERE is HOPE!) and click “Follow.”
