USMC Suicide Charley 1-7 War Memorial

My name is Mike Vizer and I am building a replica of the USMC War Memorial that is in Washington D.C. The memorial will include a recreation of the flag raising on top of Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima. I also will have display boards which will include dog tags for every Marine KIA throughout the entire history of Suicide Charley 1st Battalion 7th Marines from Guadalcanal (WW2) to present day. There will also be a section for other Marine Corps KIAs at the request of respective family or friends.

My Motivation for doing this is to provide a place for healing and remembering, I will never forget those who have fallen and I feel that it's my duty to make sure that someone will always remember them. The war memorial in Washington D.C. is far away for many folks, so I want to make the memorial closer to the other half of the country. The memorial will be located at my home in the Town of Oconto which is about 30 minutes north of Green Bay. 

Once the memorial is complete, on every Memorial Day, I will host a ceremony to honor our fallen Marines and it will include reading the names of every KIA.
