USMC Veteran Timothy Patrick Thomas
Donation protected
Our father, Timothy Thomas, a USMC veteran and father of three and grandfather to six and great grandfather to 5, recently passed away. He served two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged. He joined at age 17. He protected the Colonel on the battleship U.S Kitty Hawk on sea, and on land in Vietnam where he endured many battles where he could have died and then as a result he found out he suffered with Agent Orange which may have contributed to his cancer diagnosis. As a veteran we thought his funeral was covered and we were not anticipating any costs. We found out today that there is a fee for dad to be escorted and placed, his dying wish, at the Riverside National Cemetery in Ca from Arizona where he passed away. The mortuary escort and funeral service fee is (3,495.00), (This fee is separate from a transport fee which Norma is covering.) CA permit fee is (150.00) , a casket is (approximately 1000.00 or more), and flowers (430.00) would be nice because we are doing a closed casket due to the high price of having make -up and dressing and embalming. Plot and marker and digging is free.
We hate to ask for donations from family and friends but want a respectful ceremony for our dad for the sacrifices he made serving our country. A full ceremony with military honors.
We appreciate your consideration and understand if you aren't able to help- any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Love Kim and Tina
