Logan's Bone Marrow Transplant

Donation protected

Logan Moules is an extremely sweet 22-year-old who has been battling an insidious illness for about 19 years and has now been diagnosed with Pi3k delta activated syndrome (being only the 20th person in the world to be diagnosed with this disease). Because this disease is so rare, Logan went to the NIH in Bethesda to be researched for 10 days volunteering to any/all tests, no matter how painful they were, in hopes of helping others have a better future.

Donations will help Logan and his family with  various medical, travel, and recovery expenses.

I am going to talk about his story because not only will it explain why we are trying to raise money, but it is truly remarkable and inspiring. After all of the hardships Logan has been through (including 7 life saving surgeries over 20 surgical procedures, and two comas), he always keeps a positive attitude and lights up every room he walks in to.

At the age of 3, doctors found multiple enlarged lymph nodes throughout Logan's body that would multiply and interfere with his organ function. Throughout Logan's life, there were multiple surgeries to remove these "non cancerous" nodes and on several occasions also had to have partial organ removal.

Blood work was performed throughout this process and Logan's immune system was unable to work properly. Although Logan's doctors were incredibly dedicated and hardworking, a diagnosis was allusive, and therefore no cure could be found.

This year, the urgency of Logan's situation became apparent, as these lymph nodes had now started to increase in his lungs. This was untreatable with our current method of surgical removal and with bacteria slowly taking over the healthy tissue. As doctors searched for ways to stabilize him, his DNA was able to be broken down and they FINALLY found the cause of Logan's illness. He has what is known as Pi3k delta activated syndrome. While we were beyond grateful to know what was wrong, we had to face the grim facts that came with it. A disease that causes B cell lymphoma and multiple other life threatening diseases that Logan has battled throughout his short 22 years of life.

As stated earlier, Logan is only the 20th person in the WORLD to be diagnosed with this disease and the only known cure at this point is to have a Bone Marrow Transplant with an estimated 2 year recovery period.

In Logan's already compromised state, this fight is going to be an all-consuming battle. One battle Logan and his family are ready to win! Logan's words were, "I have been waiting for this all my life", "A chance to know what we are facing and the chance to beat it." His immune system and lungs are weak but he has the heart and attitude of a champion.

Your donation would help enable Logan and his family be 100% dedicated on Logan's treatment and recovery.  We appreciate any help that can be given to make this possible.

If you are unable to donate (and even if you are), please say a prayer for Logan and his family.

Thank you for reading Logan's story. His positive and loving attitude has been an inspiration to me and I hope it will inspire you as well.
