Ambulance in Ukraine - Medics of 48th Brigade

Hi, folks, I'm Alex and I bought and am currently overhauling a decommissioned ambulance that will be donated to a non-profit organization SAB UA, who work hard to provide these to Ukrainian organizations operating directly in the affected areas.

The vehicle is a perfect fit for the job - rugged, heavy, powered by a capable 6.0 L V8 turbodiesel, it is exactly what the folks need.

I originally was going to fund the entire effort out of personal savings, however, the costs are mounting up, and I'm looking to raise some funds to offset the cost of procuring the necessary medical equipment, including stretcher, defibrillator, etc., maintenance of vehicle and patient compartment HVAC units, as well as the cost of shipping the vehicle to the charity in Estonia, registration, insurance fees, and additional set of tires and rims (these don't last too long there, unfortunately, so spares are always needed).

UPD: The vehicle has been delivered to the Medics of the 48th Brigade in the fall of 2023 (pls., see the YT video in the updates below). Total all-in documented cost was $53,884.14. Repairs, equipment and parts totalled $32,596.99.

This fundraiser remains open to replace the engine that was damaged in August of 2024 (see below in Updates for details).
