Help Jeff and Tina get back on their feet!

Jeff and Tina Abelsen are long-time residents of Two Harbors and have spent their time in our community building friendships and relationships with all they have met. It is time that we as a community band together and lend a hand, as Jeff and Tina are in a time of need. 

Late Thursday night, Jeff, a member of the Engineering team at Builtrite Manufacturing,  was awakened to find that the bed he was sleeping in had started ablaze. After trying to extinguish the fire, he and Tina, an employee at Serco Loaders, were forced to evacuate with only the things they could carry and their two dogs. 

While the Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire with the home still standing, the loss experienced is astounding. Personal belongings, keepsakes, and family heirlooms- some of which cannot be replaced. At this time they have made arrangements for lodging and storage, but they have accepted the simple gesture of this petition for financial assistance as they face the challenges of purchasing the furniture, appliances, and personal effects that can be replaced.
