Prayers for Paisley

Paisley, the 22-month old daughter of my nephew Jacob, is currently admitted to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

Your prayers and generosity are needed as Paisley is minimally facing a two-year regimen of chemotherapy and surgical procedures in her fight for survival. Jacob, a single parent of three daughters under 5 years of age, has been glued to Paisley's side since the Christmas Day diagnosis.

The Royer and Engler families are rallying around Jacob, Paisley, and her sisters Amelia and Hope. Paisley's grandmother Debbie Royer and great-grandmother Sonja Engler are providing hospital support to Jacob and Paisley at Children's Hospital. Paisley's grandfather Rob (SFPD) and aunts Mikayla (Sausalito PD) and Colette are providing daily care for Amelia and Hope. The entire immediate and extended families are praying for a good outcome.

There is a concern regarding medical costs, as Jacob only recently obtained full-time status in the workplace ensuring that he had adequate healthcare for he and his children. His employer has been extremely supportive and sympathetic upon learning of Paisley's condition. There are, however, many unknowns as all of these events began to unfurl at our Christmas Eve family gathering when strange bruises were observed upon Paisley's body when she was putting on her pajamas. Today's surgery and initial chemotherapy went well, and the entire family is rallying behind Paisley.

Do what you can. All funds collected will be held in an account dedicated to Paisley's medical and recovery costs. Most of all, please pray for Paisley.
