Sammy Strong

Sam was born premature at 36 weeks and was a healthy baby boy. On April 14th, he was sent to the ER for what was thought to be just dehydration. Two minutes after Nicole (mom) and Sam got to UPMC Children’s ER, Sam went into cardiac arrest. After further testing it was determined that Sam had a congenital heart defect and would require open heart surgery. Sam also had a viral infection in his lungs. Because of this infection he has not yet been able to get the heart surgery he needs. He has been in the Cardiac ICU for 4 weeks now. He continues to show signs of improvement but still has a long road ahead. All donations will be put toward travel expenses and medical bills
