Surgical Mission to Ukraine

Hello, I'm Laura Bukavina, a urologic surgeon at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Together with my colleagues, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Mishra, we'll be journeying to Ukraine from October 13-22. Our mission is to offer surgical care to combat trauma patients in dire need of advanced pelvic reconstruction. These individuals, both men and women, face significant quality-of-life challenges due to their injuries, and given the limited reconstructive urology expertise available, their care options are scarce. With the support of University Hospitals and our leading reconstructive urologists, our goal is not just to provide unparalleled care, but also to equip Ukrainian doctors with the surgical skills they need to consistently tend to such patients, fostering a legacy of urologic excellence.

Throughout our journey, we'll be sharing regular updates. With your generous contributions and the support of our partners, we aim to gather enough funds to assist as many patients as we can during our time in Ukraine. Every penny raised will be allocated towards patient care, encompassing hospital stays, post-surgery care, medications, and follow-ups.
