UVA Mutual Aid Free Store

UVA Mutual Aid was founded in 2020 when it became obvious that students needed to practice radical care for each other, as the University failed to meet our essential needs at the outset of the pandemic.
Since then, we have distributed over $100,000 to UVA students in the form of $100 individual grants and a few larger scholarships. As we look towards the future and a post-COVID age, UVA Mutual Aid understands that the pandemic simply brought ongoing food, housing, and job insecurity in the UVA community to light; however, these issues have always affected the most marginalized in our community.
These preexisting essential needs only continue to grow and remain unmet at an institutional level. Therefore, our next step in servicing the UVA community is opening a Free Store in Newcomb Hall. The store will offer food, clothes, healthcare products, school supplies, and much more; free to all students and staff who need it, no questions asked.
Please consider donating and sharing this link as we dream and organize for a future where mutual aid is obsolete.
