Operation Gratitude

Donation protected
There are 169 respiratory therapists at the UVA Hospital, and each gratitude baskets costs $14 to make. Therefore,  fundraising $2,366 will allow us to donate a basket to each respiratory therapist!

The COVID-19 Student Service Corps (CSSC) is a student group at the University of Virginia that provides community support to people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. For this project, we are making Gratitude Baskets for local Respiratory Therapists in an effort to show our appreciation of their hard work.

Respiratory therapists are working nonstop in this pandemic to treat COVID-19 patients who are on ventilators, yet they often do not get the same credit as other healthcare workers. They are truly the unsung heroes leading our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an effort to say 'thank you' for their hard work, we want to give them baskets that contain helpful items (e.g., lip balm, energy bars, healthy snacks, hand lotion) as well as words of encouragement.

By donating to this GoFundMe, we will purchase gift cards to local restaurants in Charlottesville, which we will include in our Gratitude Baskets. In this way, your donation can both benefit local businesses and show gratitude for our healthcare heroes!
