Please Support Team USA- Jen Fitz-Roy & Beth Noll

In mid-September, we will travel to the Czech Republic to compete in the World Championships for rowing representing the United States. We have put in a lot of hard work for the past three years to reach this goal, and we couldn’t be more excited. As a para rower in the PR2 women’s single sculls (W PR2 1x), Jen rows using her upper body, using specialized equipment to support her optimal rowing performance.

Unfortunately, in the United States, this boat class does not receive any financial support to attend competitions, including the World Championships. In preparation to qualify for the US National Team, we’ve traveled to multiple training camps, US National Team Trials, and other regattas, all with limited or no funding. So we are and have been entirely self-funded.

In any other year, the costs of reaching this goal would be substantial (at least $10K-$12K). With the global economic crisis, it costs significantly more to travel and compete this year. That makes financial support from our friends and supporters even more critical. Upcoming expenses include transportation (flights and ground transport for us and the equipment needed), housing in the Czech Republic, equipment rental, and food. Currently, this endeavor will cost ~$18,000 USD for Jen and Beth. We ask that you give generously to help us be able to perform at our very best while representing the United States.
